Megan Louise visits Avalon!

Local singer, songwriter and musician, Megan Louise, joined us for a very special anti bullying assembly.

The whole school joined together with Wirral's  up and coming singer, Megan Louise, to raise awareness and to ensure that everyone understands their collective responsibility for anti bullying week.

Megan Louise shared her own personal experiences with the children and how she used her music and song writing to speak out and overcome her own struggles with bullying at school. We were treated to a special performance of Megan Louise’s own songs plus, the children had the opportunity to sing a cover version of ‘This is Me’ alongside her.

To start our Anti Bullying awareness week on 12th November, the children were all invited to wear odd socks for the day, to encourage everyone to express themselves and celebrate their individuality and what makes us all unique!

Throughout the week children  have been taking part in a range of activities from role playing to song rapping, learning and understanding how bullying can be verbal, physical, online or in-person. In all too many cases, bullying behaviours can cause a significant impact on a child’s life, well in to adulthood. By making small, simple changes, we can all help to break this cycle and create a safe environment for everyone. Change starts with a conversation. It starts with looking out for each other and challenging bullying. Children at Avalon say, ‘Change starts with all of us!’
